Extended Learning Opportunities

Young students participating in Camp SOL touch a prickly animal.

Student enrichment outside of school hours

Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) programs provide students with homework help, enrichment clubs, and - as part of its mission - a safe space for students to grow and learn outside of school hours. ELO programs, coordinated through the Language, Culture, and Equity Department, are held before-school hours, after-school hours and in the summer at Title 1 and  in PSD.

Goals - ELO programs give students opportunities to:

  • Learn in a safe environment with positive adult role models
  • Socialize with peers in a healthy manner
  • Receive academic support
  • Engage in enriching activities that may otherwise be unavailable
  • Learn sportsmanship and cooperation during recreational activities
  • Become active members in their community
